Peak 2 Peak Gondola

Hi; I placed your project template on this article because it has a lot of technical detail that needs pro attention, even though it's not part of this project's "guide to engineering". Still, it's a novel effort, the project, and "an engineering feat" so maybe of interest to the project. Gondolas are covered in British Columbia under the Railway Act (legislation) but WP:Trains didn't seem right and technical material isn't really WP:Ski's forte, nor WP:Canada's. If not suitable to your project pls remove, but maybe one or two of you might want to "adopt" it anyway. Note mass of article issues templates at top of page. Coordinators' working group

Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.

I see that there are not that many articles in your scope. Have you considered making a Bot request so a bot would tag all the articles in categories you deem engineering related? Red cunt hair

This article, about an engineering term, was recently nominated for deletion; the result was no consensus. I would like to expand the article, but I'm finding it difficult to source information, hence I wondered if anyone within this project might have access to any further information.

The main objections to the article have been that it remains like a dictionary entry, because it contains only 1 reference to actualy usage of the term (in a book). Because the term is slang, and somewhat obscene, it's difficult to find further details.

I'd be very grateful if anyone could help improve the article.

Analog and digital being redefined on wikipedia

From my limited understanding, everything is analog before it can be digital. There seems to be a backwards trend here. Digital is being treated as naturally occurring, while analog is being treated as having strict criteria, when in reality it should be the other way around. There is a dispute on the analog signal article where a couple of users have replaced referenced material with unreferenced material. Oicumayberight (talk) 16:06, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

I just noticed that the digital article has no sources either. One would expect a concept with such broad usage to have enough literature to source the article. Oicumayberight (talk) 18:56, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

I think I see the error in the logic. The reason why there isn't many sources (if any) to the way digital is being referred to on the wikipedia is because "digital" is being used to describe raw data and not data processing. First we have to understand that "digital" is meaningless if it doesn't pertain to information. All data in it's purest form is analog, and is only made digital by the way it's processed. The difference between analog data and digital data is the same difference between data and information. All information is data, but not all data is information. Therefore, data is only digital as it pertains to information, not raw data. It makes perfect sense when you see digital data as the subset of analog data that it is. But when you try to reverse it and treat analog data as if it merely intersects or is a subset of digital data, it's no wonder that it's vague and confusing. It's contrary to logic. Plastic hinges and living hinges

I am wondering if one of you could look at plastic hinge and living hinge. I believe both articles are referring to the exact same thing, but living hinge seems limited while plastic hinge seems broad. I started a section on it at Talk:Living hinge. Have a nice day. This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. Pageview stats

After a recent request, I added WikiProject Engineering to the list of projects to compile monthly pageview stats for. The data is the same used by http://stats.grok.se/en/ but the program is different, and includes the aggregate views from all redirects to each page. The stats are at Wikipedia:WikiProject Engineering/Popular pages.

The page will be updated monthly with new data. The edits aren't marked as bot edits, so they will show up in watchlists. You can view more results, request a new project be added to the list, or request a configuration change for this project using the toolserver tool.
