Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Editor Retention/Project goals
I just made some edits to this page to make it more consistent and to fix a set of typographical errors. If we expect this page to be taken seriously by visitors, then we need to make sure it follows certain stylistic guidelines (i.e., bulleted items are always treated as sentence fragments-- or always not, but either way it needs to be consistent) and doesn't contain things like comma errors or grammatically inconsistent transitions between paragraphs and their bulleted items. But hey, this is why this is a collaborative project, yes?? I have now made what I think are most of the important changes, but I am still not able to figure out where some of the bulleted item belong. We seem to have a section at the top that addresses concerns for new editors, and then another section below that for experienced ones, but some of the items in the latter set should have been placed in the former (now fixed) and some of the remaining ones don't really seem to belong to either category (maybe someone who put this page together has a better sense of where these belong than I do). In sum: I have now fixed some style and technical problems with this page, but there are still some issues I was not able to resolve. Thanks! KDS4444 (talk) 00:37, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
Also: the section on "Damage to the editorial climate" needs to be gone over by someone with an eye towards making it more professional-- things like quotes need to either be taken out of quotation marks or need to be referenced to something specific. Using quote marks to create "some kind of emphasis" on "something or other" that is not specified is "confusing" and "pointless" to readers. But that is only one issue with this section-- it has several that will stand out (and aught to be fixed) if reviewed by someone with general editorial writing experience. I took a stab at the section before it, I leave this section to someone else (am tagging Mark Miller here, as this seems to have been his creation). KDS4444 (talk) 00:54, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
