Scope?
[edit]We should have a discussion about the scope and goals of this group. How is this project different from the existing British Columbia, Oregon, and Washington projects? ---Another Believer (Talk) 02:58, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Another Believer: This could be somewhat of a coordination between the projects. MB298 (talk) 20:18, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
WikiProject United States - The 50,000 Challenge
[edit]You are invited to participate in the 50,000 Challenge, aiming for 50,000 article improvements and creations for articles relating to the United States. This effort began on November 1, 2016 and to reach our goal, we will need editors like you to participate, expand, and create. See more here! |

- Or, perhaps now more appropriately: Wikipedia:WikiProject United States/The 50,000 Challenge/Pacific Northwest. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:21, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
Category problem
[edit]I just noticed that Category:Culture of the Pacific Northwest is included in Category:Culture of British Columbia and vice versa. It seems that this should be one way but not the other. Probably PNW contains BC but not the reverse. - Bri (talk) 14:42, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Bri: I've fixed the problem. MB298 (talk) 00:03, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
The Cascadian national Anthem "To Cascadia" written by President Adam Alexander Brisbine
[edit]Where the eagle sheds its wing where the salmon ride on the columbia
where the evergreen is king and the wars of the iron age are under us
Cascadia we'll sing Cascadia... to Cascadia
our land it must be free and not the freedom of our past ____________________________________
Where nature turns the road to crumble Protected by all nations and me.
St. Helens iron mountain make us humble hold it like a guardian key
Cascadia we'll sing Cascadia... to Cascadia
our land it must be free and not the freedom of our past ____________________________________
When the leaders lead the planet into thunder Where religion is a dangerous thing
When greed has turned the hearts of man to plunder When the wounded warrior escapes
Cascadia we'll sing Cascadia... to Cascadia
our land it must be free and not the freedom of our past _____________________________________
The family of all is great and wonderous Our mercy is the greatest and peace
Let the stars of the night shine from under us Like a man with an old kite string
Cascadia we'll sing Cascadia... to Cascadia Cascadia we'll sing Cascadia... to Cascadia Cascadia we'll sing Cascadia... to Cascadia For all! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.121.239.167 (talk) 23:33, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
Quality scale and importance
[edit]I was adding Cascadia official soccer team to WikiProject Cascadia when I noticed that we don't have an article quality and importance system yet. Is this true and if so can someone implement one? Cool314 (talk) 22:43, 2 June 2018 (UTC)

Project-independent quality assessments
[edit]Quality assessments are used by Wikipedia editors to rate the quality of articles in terms of completeness, organization, prose quality, sourcing, etc. Most wikiprojects follow the general guidelines at Wikipedia:Content assessment, but some have specialized assessment guidelines. A recent Village pump proposal was approved and has been implemented to add a |class=
parameter to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, which can display a general quality assessment for an article, and to let project banner templates "inherit" this assessment.
No action is required if your wikiproject follows the standard assessment approach. Over time, quality assessments will be migrated up to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, and your project banner will automatically "inherit" any changes to the general assessments for the purpose of assigning categories.
However, if your project has decided to "opt out" and follow a non-standard quality assessment approach, all you have to do is modify your wikiproject banner template to pass {{WPBannerMeta}} a new |QUALITY_CRITERIA=custom
parameter. If this is done, changes to the general quality assessment will be ignored, and your project-level assessment will be displayed and used to create categories, as at present. Aymatth2 (talk) 20:56, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
Just so project members are aware: the Doug flag copy on Commons has been deleted per this request. SounderBruce 03:01, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
