Universities names in English

According to WP:UE:

In deciding whether and how to translate a foreign name into English, follow English-language usage. If there is no established English-language treatment for a name, translate it if this can be done without loss of accuracy and with greater understanding for the English-speaking reader.

Therefore, I'd like to propose renaming all members of Category:Universities and colleges in Brazil that are not currently in English. Your thoughts? Thanks. Fgnievinski (talk) 00:21, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

@Prburley: I guess it's just a matter of resolving the few question marks in the list, then proceed to request technical moves, given the agreement demonstrated here. Maybe we can use Google Scholar to settle usage, e.g., 105 vs. 154 hits. fgnievinski (talk) 06:14, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

@Fgnievinski: Tried it before with odd yet successful results. One English-language name was buried in the university page HTML code but not displayed anywhere in the website. I enjoy doing the research on these things but I refuse to do moves and such because of the inevitable meanness that'll come from an old-school editor or senior admin. Finalizing this project

Can I suggest adding a icon next to the final decisions for each "proposed" name, or a third column with "final decision"? I think it's close to finished but I can't see what's left.

Infoboxes

I noticed that Template:Infobox university has fields native_name and native_name_lang; I think we can start using them before we rename pages. Acronyms are common, so they can go in the Other_names field, e.g.: |name = Federal University of ABC |native_name = Universidade Federal do ABC |native_name_lang = Pt |other_names = UFABC. fgnievinski (talk) 14:38, 5 November 2015 (UTC)

Initially let's change only the infobox and leave the lead text to be changed when the page is moved, shall we. British School of Brasília

The article British School of Brasília has been PRODed and will most likely be deleted after April 1st, 2016 unless it is improved. Since the school hasn’t opened yet, it may be more appropriate to merge the information about the school into the article British Schools Foundation. If salvaged, a more appropriate title would be British School of Brasília, but I am not moving it now, since I haven’t located any reasonable sources to support keeping it. giso6150 (talk) 15:18, 25 March 2016 (UTC)

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you?
