Miss Universe 1997

Could someone correct the Miss Universe 1997 page. It shows that Miss Phillipines was a finalist when if fact it was Miss India, Nafisa Joseph who was the finalist. GA Sweeps invitation

This message is being sent to WikiProjects with GAs under their scope. Since August 2007, WikiProject Good Articles has been participating in GA sweeps. The process helps to ensure that articles that have passed a nomination before that date meet the GA criteria. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. Instead of reviewing by topic, editors can consider picking and choosing whichever articles they are interested in.

We are always looking for new members to assist with reviewing the remaining articles, and since this project has GAs under its scope, it would be beneficial if any of its members could review a few articles (perhaps your project's articles). Your project's members are likely to be more knowledgeable about your topic GAs then an outside reviewer. As a result, reviewing your project's articles would improve the quality of the review in ensuring that the article meets your project's concerns on sourcing, content, and guidelines. However, members can also review any other article in the worklist to ensure it meets the GA criteria.

If any members are interested, please visit the GA sweeps page for further details and instructions in initiating a review. If you'd like to join the process, please add your name to the running total page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles from the worklist or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. With ~1,300 articles left to review, we would appreciate any editors that could contribute in helping to uphold the quality of GAs. My question is how do we start up a beauty pageant? Do you have to have any special thing to start one up? My home town has a couple, but I would like to start one up to raise money for cancer people or even premie babies. I was 31 weeks when I had my son. I had to find away to the hospital everyday to see him. The hospital was a hour and half away from me. I was off work. So I would like to start one. miss israel 1st Arab elected in israel

This is a rectification as to the 1st Israeli Arab elected in Israel as Miss Israel. I would like to rectify this affirmation, as I was Miss Israel 1963, I was supposed to be elected as ' malkat Hayofi" but due to the fact that I was not jewish , certain judges refused me the title but gave me the title of ' na'arat israel' which means literaly : maiden of Israel.

My name is Sherine Ibrahim , I was born in Haifa & was elected miss israel 1963 & not Esther Kafir, who did receive the title but the commitee of Miss Israel decided that due to the big polemique my election had caused, they would send me to the Miss Universe contest instead of Esther. I did participate in the Miss Uiverse contest 1963, 1 won the best native costume & was awarded a Trophy in reconaissance of my dress & headpiece which I chose myself from the collection of the well known Couture House MASKIT which was directed then by Mrs. Moshe Dayan herself, who chose me as a model for a catwalk in Tel Aviv that year. as proof of my comments here, I have all the newspaper articles that I have kept preciously. If you wish to refer to certain articles in 'Yediot Ahranot' that year, a lot of ink was spelt due to my election. A b ig supporter was URI AVNERI, the well known israeli journalist,who was ver upset, as a matte of fact, he was livid, when he realized that although I had the majority of votes, the fact that I was of persian origin & a liberal moslem didn't work in my favor & they gave that title to esther kfir, but in reality, I had all the assignments destined for esther, & the lady who owned the magazine Laisha in Tel Aviv decided that I was to represent Israel as the representative for the miss universe contest. i had a wonderful experience in Miami, that year the Brazilian contestant was elected Miss Universe. I have all the photos to prove the veracity of my testimony.

this was just a 'mise au point' as we say here in Belgium.... Actually I live in Brussels for the time being,as I took the Belgian nationality after my marriage to a Belgian citizen, who passed away 6 years ago.
