Battletech Technology Article
[edit]I've posted a suggested migration plan for most of the content in this article on its talk page. I'm proposing some pretty radical changes, so you might want to have a look at it. Right now, it seems to have grown by process of osmosis more than from careful planning. There's some good content, but not much structure. M.U.D. 18:04, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Virtual World Battletech
[edit]What say you guys about an article about Virtual World's Battletech simulator pod products. They received quite a bit of press a while back, and are still existant. It definitly deserves mention as part of the Battletech universe, although I wonder if it should just be part of the main page or should it get a seperate page. I think it meets WP:NOTE, but I've gotten burned on that rule contributing articles before and would not like to repeat the experience. Topkai22 07:48, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- We already have one, I just can't find. NeoFreak 11:39, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

History,Technology,Mercs
[edit]Hey I'll be working exnsivly on these three at least for the time being I may hit other pages if I see a problem.Popa01 20:04, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Cool, they all need lots of attention. FYI, I actually have a new version of the BattleTech technology article that I drafted to try to addresses some of that article's current problems. I haven't put it online yet (I've been drafting it offline on my PC), but if it wouldn't interfere with what you're currently working on, I'd be glad to put it up.
- Note: I've posted details and requests for comment on the article's discussion page. Huwmanbeing 14:33, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- I've been doing some extensive work on the Gray Death Legion if you want to help. I've got the history updated and referenced up to the 3rd Novel. Need to flesh out the personalities section and pictures perhaps. Showers 18:02, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Deletion proposals
[edit]A number of BattleTech-related articles were just proposed for deletion, most notably including the Periphery and most of the governments within it. I think a strong case can be made for maintaining the Periphery article since it's one of the three main sections of the BattleTech universe; it's a little tougher, though, to make compelling arguments for some of the smaller government articles (Lothian League, Mica Majority, etc.) that would satisfy the requirements WP:N and Wikipedia:Notability (fiction). Anyone have opinions on how to go? Personally, I think if we could improve the article on the Periphery and work in maybe a paragraph or two on each of its governments, that'd be sufficient. Huwmanbeing ★ 02:57, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Still more articles have been nominated for deletion, including the articles on the Great Houses (Draconis Combine, Free Worlds League, Lyran Alliance), various Clans (Wolf, Smoke Jaguar, Ghost Bear, Jade Falcon) and some other BattleTech entries. I'm sure we're agreed that articles on major houses and clans should be preserved, but in order to make a good case for keeping them, they need to be improved, and quickly. I haven't combed through each one of the articles, but in general they seem to need references and citations, should be reduced to only the most important and significant facts and features, and include something to indicate why they're important and noteworthy. I'll get started doing what I can; if anyone else can pitch in, that'd be great! Thanks Huwmanbeing ★ 21:40, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Project inactivity
[edit]I have tagged this project as inactive. There appear to have been no recent new members, the main page has not been updated in 18 months, and the most recent talk post is from 2007. Please remove the tag if this is incorrect. Andyo2000 (talk) 05:47, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal
[edit]Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
WikiProject X is live!
[edit]Hello everyone!
You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.
