Userboxes

[edit]

I think the userboxes about userboxes, edits, and vandalism may better belong on Wikipedia:Userboxes/Wikipedia. I also think the userboxes about Earth may belong on Wikipedia:Userboxes/Location. -- Tetraminoe

Right on the first suggestions, but really, if there's anyone on Wikipedia further than Low Earth Orbit right now, I think we'd know about it. I hope we'd know. —James S. 06:09, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Could somebody help me figure out what is wrong with the Template:User flexitarian box that is making it show up differently than the rest of the boxes in the table? I am new to templates... - AdelaMae (talk - contribs) 05:57, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

hey ya

[edit]

Could someone make a "mathie" userbox. I'm using mathematician, but i am definitely more of a mathie type. Less formal, more me. Thanks yáll. And if you don't mind, if you can illustrate how i would go about making a userbox (esp the pic) let me know. Thanks. JamieJones talk 00:27, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Figured out! All by myself! I may become a real wikipedian one day. Any comments or help is welcome. JamieJones talk 16:36, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

adding gender pronouns

[edit]

I'm going to add two userboxes for the two respective gender pronouns, in addition to the substandard "they" for the "outlier" userbox. I encourage everyone to do the same with other userboxes that feature "they" as a singular pronoun. Maprov

mathematician

[edit]

who changed the mathematician userbox? it used to be black and had a integration symbol (among others) in the image box. Now its white and has a differnt image. what's up? Gatherton 00:18, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Check out Template:User_mathematician. Looks like a was User:Bkell. Maybe ask him/her? JamieJones talk 12:36, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

mathmo?

[edit]

I would quite like to see a mathmo userbox (mathmo being a term used mainly at Cambridge to describe a mathematics student, as opposed to a mathematician who is making a living(?) doing maths), but I wouldn't know where to go with it... I'll give it a shot, but if anyone could do this better then go for it :) (furthermore, mathmo would be good as I described myself as a Mathmo on the UK version of Beauty and the Geek as a joke :D ) --JebJoya 15:31, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, there should be a mathmo userbox.Mathmo Talk 13:30, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Geometry

[edit]

I'd like to see a geometry interest box. Other than the polar coordinates and polyhedral, and not just Euclidean or analytic, but also geometry in general. Elle Bee 15:20, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Advanced Mathematics

[edit]

Can some one do something about number theory? Or something about Real Anaylsis would be great! Leigao84 18:13, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Existing categories?

[edit]

I find the instructions at the top of this page puzzling. I don't see any other categories where items on this page might fit. Is the comment obsolete? –Gerrit Erasmus (talk) 21:50, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've just removed it as it was indeed obsolete. On checking the page history, this page started off in 2005 as Userboxes/Other, but was emptied apart from the "Measurement systems" section and moved to Userboxes/Mathematics in Jan 2006. That note should have been removed then! Qwfp (talk) 14:34, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New Userboxes

[edit]

I have added seven new userboxes that I have created. Hopefully they will allow people in need of mathematical help to quickly find people of a certain mathematical skill. I am not certain if this is just redundant to the other mathematical level userboxes, but I feel this is more to the language level standard.

Sections misaligned

[edit]

The statistics section is extremely misaligned as a result of it, a lot of the userboxes are not displayed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by VishalR2707 (talkcontribs) 05:24, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Buaidh: you seem to have broken something in this edit. I recall a MediaWiki limitation on how many templates (incl. nested templates) can be on one page. – voidxor 05:21, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
