Welcome to the talk page

This is a place where you can ask questions, talk about problems, and discuss the Wikipedia assignment with classmates and other Wikipedians.--Theredproject (talk) 22:16, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Introductions

[edit]

Hi there! I'm Banaticus, an Online Ambassador for Wikipedia. Professor Mandiberg posted that one of your assignments is to introduce yourselves to me on my talk page and to leave a message for a classmate on their talk page. If you're wondering, "But I don't ever really go to Wikipedia, how do I know when someone leaves a message on my talk page?" Well, you check your email right? Go to your Preferences page (that link will take each of you to your own personal preferences page), scroll down to the bottom, confirm your email, click the "E-mail me when my user talk page is changed" checkmark box and click the Save button. There you go, just like Facebook. I'm also a student, although I'm taking a break from my regular studies this semester to become an EMT, the better to continue putting myself through college, so I often have odd hours. If you have any questions or if you're upset that your edit was reverted or anything else, please drop me a note on my user talk page (which is the fastest way to get my attention as I receive an email when my talk page is edited) and I'll see if I can't get your missing work back for you. It may take a day or two, so don't procrastinate. :) Banaticus (talk) 06:51, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Free Culture

[edit]

The thing about Wikipedia is that any work we do doesn't exist in a vacuum. For instance, someone has been markedly improving the Free Culture (book) article. If you all don't jump right on it, it may be improved to the point that you may not really be able to contribute anything to the article. Good luck! :) Banaticus (talk) 17:26, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like they jumped in and things are moving forward. Thanks again for your help on this.--Theredproject (talk) 04:18, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
