Videos

[edit]

It's wonderful to see videos being created as part of this course, as Wikipedia has relatively little video content today. Is it possible to upload these in higher resolution formats as well?--Eloquence* 21:32, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Erik. Thanks for your kind words about the videos! What resolution and formats do you have in mind? --Jgmikulay (talk) 22:56, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Right now they're at 320×240, which makes it very difficult to see detail. In general I'd recommend uploading the highest resolution version you have available, but 640x480 (or a similar res) would be a great improvement as well.--Eloquence* 23:27, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK, this is helpful. We'll see what we can do--our last class is Saturday. --Jgmikulay (talk) 04:00, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is the Commons uploading limitation for files >100 MB. Erik, if you could help us get around that for this project, that would be great.--Pharos (talk) 21:21, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jennifer, congratulations! The videos are great. You and the students can be so proud of the outcome of the course – also, that the time lapse video of the Milwaukee Art Museum was selected as media of the day on November 26. Thanks!! --Frank Schulenburg (Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 00:46, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Frank! Please feel free to nominate additional videos by students as "Media of the Day." --Jgmikulay (talk) 04:00, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's a Wrap!
