Pending changes articles being shown as not protected in UI

Visit any page protected with pending changes (examples: Sridevi, 50–40–90 club, Sushmita Sen) and click the Page Protection icon in the top right.

Expected: The UI will show that the article has pending changes protection, and will give the date of expiration if applicable.

Actual: The UI says that the page is not protected. This is misleading and makes requests for unprotection impossible in UltraViolet. StartOkayStop (talk) 05:12, 16 July 2022 (UTC)

Hi @StartOkayStop! I've made an issue for this bug on GitLab while work is pending on the script. I've been rather busy recently and other developers are currently unavailable, so this might take a bit to fix. Thank you for your patience; we'll have this dealt with soon. Use

Please how can I use Redwarn for mobile Uricdivine (talk) 15:39, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

@Uricdivine: Ultraviolet is currently unavailable for mobile users as we haven't tested Ultraviolet's usability on Minerva Neue yet. Rest assured, mobile support is one of our targets for Ultraviolet, so this will come eventually. In the meantime, you can switch to "Desktop mode" (and use en.wikipedia.org instead of en.m.wikipedia.org) using your browser to access the desktop-like interface of Wikipedia, which supports Ultraviolet. Chlod (UV • say hi!) 15:54, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

Hello {u|Chlod}} thanks for replying. I do not use desktop or laptop, I use a mobile phone but can "desktop mode" work on a mobile?. And for the templated texts you send where should I cop them?... Cheers Uricdivine (talk) 16:01, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

@Uricdivine: The option is available for most phone browsers, including Firefox and Chrome for Android, and Safari on iOS (under the option "Request Desktop Site"). You can use Google or any other search engine to find out how to enable the option. As for the templated text: this is automatically provided by Ultraviolet and is taken from a list of existing user warning templates. You are responsible for the warning you give to a user, so ensure that you've properly read the guide to cleaning up vandalism and that you are giving the right warning. (edit conflict) @Uricdivine, you can use desktop view on mobile - you can click on a "desktop" link at the bottom of any page. ― Qwerfjkltalk 16:08, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

It there any way for a mobile user to use it? Uricdivine (talk) 16:06, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

Through the options I've given above, yes. Chlod (UV • say hi!) 16:07, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

Thanks to both of you for the replies... I have gone to setting on the browser am using (uc browser) I have changed to desktop mode but still nothing has changed is there any other thing I can do? Cheers Uricdivine (talk) 16:16, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

RedWarn (and Ultraviolet) has not been tested on the UC Browser, and we don't know if there are some browser features that we rely on that don't exist with that browser. Unfortunately, we're not able to help further on this end (other than suggest you to use a different browser instead), but you are free to read Wikipedia:Ultraviolet/Documentation/Troubleshooting for some possible next steps. Chlod just download Firefox. I will get back to give you update if it works, again thanks for being so helpful. Cheers Uricdivine (talk) 16:35, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

User warnings templates missing

Why are some user warnings templates (few examples: Template:Uw-bes1, Template:Uw-mislead1, Template:Uw-fringe1, Template:Uw-plotsum1) not in the dropdown warn menu of UV despite the template documentation having Ultraviolet notice stating "This template is included in the standard installation of Ultraviolet"? Paper9oll (🔔📝) 15:40, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

@Paper9oll: The banner is automatically appended to the documentation of user warnings, and is opt-out. Those would have to either be added into the configuration, or Ultraviolet should be disabled in the template's documentation (with noultraviolet=yes). Chlod (UV • say hi!) 16:16, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
@Chlod That's rather misleading to have it auto appended to the documentations, and should be disbled. However in my opinion, Uw-bes1 to Uw-bes4im and Uw-mislead1 to Uw-mislead3 are appropriate for inclusion into the configuration. As I'm not sure how the json works and don't want to break anything either, hence please help to add whichever missing user-warnings templates that are appropriate into the configuration. Thanks! Paper9oll (🔔📝) 01:27, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
@Paper9oll: It's auto-appended since this was the existing behavior on the template — we just followed suit. In any case, the four aforementioned templates have been added to the configuration. Chlod (UV • say hi!) 02:29, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
@Chlod Understood, thanks for adding the four templates to the configuration. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 13:36, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
