Early and Middle Preclassic date spans
[edit]Hi coord SchroCat and FA nom Simon Burchell,
- Blurb (as does article) has "Most have been dated to the Early Preclassic period (1500–1000 BC) with some to the Middle Preclassic period (1000–400 BC)."
- but that link to the Preclassic periods has:
- "The Preclassic Era (also known as the Formative Period) is divided into three phases: the Early (2500–1200 BCE), Middle (1500–600 BCE),..."
- This article from the MesoAmerican Research Center at University of California suggests Early is "now defined as roughly 2000 - 1000 BC." and "The Middle Preclassic dates to the interval between 1000 BC and 300 BC."
Not sure what to suggest here to prevent any possible TFA Main Page Errors report re the contradiction... except to remove the link, or the date spans, from the blurb. JennyOz (talk) 06:03, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
