Most reliable version?
[edit]The SiteDelta download page warns: "Here you can find development versions of SiteDelta. They contain new features, but might not be thoroughly tested."

Most accessible version?
[edit]I can't access .com pages directly, and have to use a proxy server to see those. The xpi's don't work through a proxy. I need to install add-ons directly from the Firefox add-on pages.

- We might best link to both. I've been discussing a number of things with the developer and he has fixed a few issues I brought up. I can confirm that the one that says beta works fine. The reason he doesn't upload this version onto the Firefox addons site is because he needs to contact the people he uses to translate SiteDelta. The new features only work in the English and German version and not the other languages which is why it's marked beta. -- penubag (talk) 05:34, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
problems
[edit]- false positives :
1) Often happens that SiteDelta notifies change but when you click on the two-papers-red icon and choose the "changed" page SiteDelta will display "No changes found" message. That's crucial problem because you want to be notified only when something has changed. 2) Images, banners and text movings are often causing false alerts
- buggy notifier : When you set that certain page should be tested every 12000 minutes (aprox. 8 days) you will
get the next day notification (often false)
- completele stopped working: Pages which should be checked daily, have not been checked for about a week. SiteDelta haven't shown positive alert for about a week, while other programs are working normally.
- Make sure Java Script for SiteWatch is enabled in your settings and ignore image links. Make sure you thoroughly check through the sitedelta settings, not page settings and see if it can be worked out. If not, send an email to sitedelta@schierla.de and see if the developer can fix the issues. -- penubag (talk) 22:49, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
Java Script is enabled, but "Check image addresses" is unchecked. Is it the same as "ignore image links"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Astrilaa (talk • contribs) 16:56, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- I believe so. Contact the developer if there are more problems. The issue you mentioned has happened to me a few times too. -- penubag (talk) 05:26, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
