Wikipedia talk:Requests for mediation/Archive 2
This is definitely not to the point where it needs a formal request for mediation, but this slow-burning old chestnut continues. There has never been consensus on this issue and the edit warring has never stopped for over 3 years, it looks like. I would like a neutral second opinion on whether my recent attempts to move towards resolution (creating a poll at Talk:Woman/poll02.2007) are helpful, or just fanning the flames. If they aren't helpful, what would be a useful step? (I think that I'm less than 25% of the problem, but if you think I'm half or more, obviously the most useful step would be for me to back off, I'd welcome that advice in that case.) To me it seems clear that something is needed. --Homunq 21:50, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
- The Mediation Cabal offers informal mediation, and the Association of Member's Advocates is good if you would like personal advice. : ) ArmedBlowfish (talk|mail) 00:06, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- Or you could try article RFC. KillerChihuahua?!? 00:23, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- Definitely not article RFC. That would only tend to bring more parties into an already crowded debate, IMO. I'll try the MedCab - but make it clear that they should use their judgement and stay hands-off if they feel it appropriate. --Homunq 01:15, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- I hope it works out, ArmedBlowfish (talk|mail) 01:53, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit]When is WikiProject Psychedelics going to be assigned? Does it usually take this long? It's been more than a week already! Jolb 19:35, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Community enforceable mediation experimental rollout
[edit]Community enforceable mediation has entered a 90 day experimental phase. Other mediation venues often get backlogged so mediators may wish to refer some cases to this new program. Suitable cases would have:
- Two disputants.
- No allegations of sockpuppetry.
- Aspects of user conduct/policy violations overlapping the content dispute.
- Basically mature and reasonable participants.

I would like now to relaunch Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/Phi Kappa Psi, which was previously launched by Samwisep86 but rejected as premature and as having a concern outside of the Mediation Committee's scope.
Invocation of the MedCab has decisively failed, so turning to the Committee should no longer be regarded as premature. And the matter outside of scope is recognized as such. Further, Samwisep86 has withdrawn from the dispute, though I would not object to his becoming a party to the mediation or to his providing third-party commentary.
I believe that Samwisep86's original statement of the issue to be mediated was appropriate.
I fear to edit the page as it now stands in an attempt to resubmit the request, as I don't know what I might inadvertently screw-up. (The guidelines seem to presume a fresh start.) —SlamDiego 05:31, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
