Some very strange AFDs
[edit]- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wikipedia:Votes for extreme deletion (Strange, doesn't the page history look broken?)
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Jwrosenzweig (same problem with edit history)
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wikipedia:Requests for comment/John Kenney (same problem again)
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject Medical Conditions (another strange-looking nomination)
I really don't understand anything from the edit histories of the first three. The first edit appears to be the closure of the discussion. Huh, Graham87? 103.6.156.167 (talk) 15:39, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
- It looks like the first three VFD's on that list were closed incorrectly, for whatever reason; instead of closing the actual discussion, the editor who closed them did so by creating a new page with the close on them. I've redirected those pages to their actual VFD's, which I found by checking the wiki-markup for VFD around that time. As for the fourth page, that's just how VFD was in those days. Queries
[edit]I've been doing a couple of these and I've got a few queries:
- The main one is what do we do when there's an AfD page already occupying where the VfD page should be moved to (for a simple example see Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Butterface and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Butterface)?
- Should Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/-Ril-'s suggestion be an AfD subpage? Should it be userfied/taken to MfD?
- What should we do with Wikipedia talk:Votes for deletion/Archives? I suppose it could be moved to Wikipedia talk:Votes for deletion/Archives, but I don't really see the point of keeping it.
- Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Comparison of Star Trek and Star Wars (2nd nomination) (moved from Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Star Trek versus Star Wars in 2010) is a bit of a weird one. It should be moved from VfD to AfD, but should we use the title it was at at the time of the VfD ("Star Trek versus Star Wars") or the current title of the article ("Comparison of Star Trek and Star Wars")?
Thanks, Jenks24 (talk) 12:35, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
- Mostly done the VfD talk pages. All that are left are pretty much either ones where the WP space page it's attached to is still a VfD, or various odds and ends such as people creating suggestions/proposals that I'm not sure what to do with. Jenks24 (talk) 20:23, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Jenks24: For #1, just rename the VfD so that its a 0th nomination. This does have some precedence. See these. For #2 and #3, my opinion is that pages that aren't deletion discussions should be retained at the place where they were created. They're historical, there's no point in moving them anywhere. #4, well, does seem to be quite weird. 103.6.159.93 (talk) 13:13, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
