DYK

[edit]

The DYK section featured on the main page is always looking for interesting new and recently expanded stubs from different parts of the world. Please make a suggestion.--Peta 02:08, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to expand the section on the early history of the PKP, but at this point I'm just getting more and more confused. I've encountered 2 separate sources, with somewhat contradicting info. In Early Communism in Palestine, Fred Halliday, Journal of Palestine Studies, Vol. 7, No. 2 (Winter, 1978), pp. 162-169, the following picture is presented:

  • MPS formed in 1919
  • MPS becomes MPSI (what would have been the full name of MPSI?)
  • MPSI becomes Jewish Communist Party in 1921
  • Jewish Communist Party splits in 1922, PKP and CPP are formed
  • PKP and CPP unite in 1923

In The Palestine Communist Party 1919 - 1948, Joel Beinen, MERIP Reports, No. 55 (Mar., 1977), pp. 3-17, doi:10.2307/3010830, there is a somewhat different picture. MPS gives birth to PKP in 1922 (no mention on MPSI or Jewish Communist Party). Minority leaves PKP at its founding congress, in 1923 there is reunification.

Would there have been any connection between the Jewish Communist Party in Palestine and the Jewish Communist Party in Russia at the same time? (for example sections of the same international structure?)

Any clarifications on this would be welcome. --Soman 19:28, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect activities of this page to Wikiproject-Palestine??

[edit]

Working on fixing up Wikipedia:WikiProject Israel Palestine Collaboration main page I just discovered this page and the relevant Wikipedia:Notice_board_for_Israel-related_topics. However, per this discussion on the Israel noticeboard, they actually stopped using it (keeping for historical purposes) because they decided it would be more efficient to keep everything on Wikipedia:WikiProject_Israel. So seeing there is a lot more action on your Wikiproject Palestine page than here, I don't know if you need to do the same thing. Just something to think about to increase efficiency, but you all know about how these pages are used better than me. ;-) CarolMooreDC (talk) 18:41, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
