2011 Wiknic
[edit]Possible locations that have been discussed so far are Mt. Tabor, The Park Blocks, and the Waterfront. It has been mentioned that it might be fun to do a walk around the river beforehand, which would mean Mt. Tabor may be a bit out of the way. Any thoughts? - Whichever, someone needs to be BOLD and pick a location... Jclemens (talk) 20:02, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'm thirteen, and a devoted user of Wikipedia. I was really looking forward to this picnic, but is says that it's being held at a gay bar. I'm all for gay rights, but that doesn't seem like the right place to hold a public event. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.246.102.189 (talk) 01:19, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Much as I love Darcelle and Darcelle's, this needs to be a completely inclusive event which means a burlesque bar (regardless of sex or sexual orientation of audience and/or performers) isn't right. Happens that I need to get a picnic permit for another event tomorrow, so I'll be bold and get one for Portland Wikinic, too. Stay tuned. 24.21.191.43 (talk) 05:15, 20 June 2011 (UTC) Here.it.comes.again (talk) 05:20, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- The date is fast approaching! Let's make the best of the time we have remaining for getting the word out. I suggest Mt. Tabor as it is a beautiful location, with relatively casual parking and atmosphere and a great view of the city. Designingpatrick (talk) 20:06, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- I vote for Mt. Tabor as well, although I'm not quite sure yet if I'll be able to go, as I just heard about it. Tabor is a beautiful place though! Great to walk around in and good picnic areas. --129.95.74.117 (talk) 23:05, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think that the event should be held on 'The Waterfront' because of its location downtown, and it's easily acessed by pedestrians. --

- I vote for the Waterfront. Easy to access, public place... it makes sense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.246.102.189 (talk) 01:57, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
I also like the idea of a waterfront meet up! 98.232.129.75 (talk) 07:56, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- The Waterfront is also nicely accessible, and not that far from Darcelle's for those that want to adjourn to the original planned location afterwards. 65.121.148.98 (talk) 18:46, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'd prefer Mt. Tabor, but I'll still go if it's at the Waterfront. We really need to have a time and place picked, though, because it's supposed to happen tomorrow. Dralokyn (talk) 19:39, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
Wiknic- did it happen?
[edit]Did you folks have a successful get-together for the Wiknic, or was there a problem with things quite congealing?--Pharos (talk) 00:45, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
- Did anybody try to go?--Pharos (talk) 17:12, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
- I never saw a final time or location, so I made no attempt to meet. There goes that Portland complacency again... ;p --Another Believer (Talk) 22:35, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
