Another 2010 meetup?
[edit]So, is anybody giving any thought to another Nashville meetup this year? RivGuySC (talk) 04:45, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- See Wikipedia talk:Meetup/Raleigh 2 for current discussion, probably to take place there around September. The Bathrobe Cabal has dominion over the Southeast :) In all reality, I do believe another Nashville Meetup will occur, but next year at the earliest, I think. We'd still love to have you in Raleigh! — Huntster (t @ c) 09:02, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
A last-minute idea: Let's Have a Nashville 2011 Wicnic on Saturday, June 25 at Centennial Park
[edit]If you are interested in a last-minute, ad-hoc, let's just do this, planning (translation: just come to it) of a Nashville Wicnic at Centennial Park on June 25, 2011, as part of the Great American Wicnic, I set up a "last-minute, let's just do this" page here. There are no committees or agenda. I just thought it would be great if anyone else is interested. I've kicked of a discussion on that page, as well.

Where do we meet? Could we meet at the front door of the Parthenon, or find a sign or note there? NashWiki (talk) 20:16, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- You should probably decide the particular meeting point at the Wikipedia:Meetup/Nashville 2 page.--Pharos (talk) 20:31, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Nashville invites list?
[edit]When I was living near Los Angeles, I added myself to the LA invites list, which was used for all meetup/Edit-a-thon notifications in the Los Angeles area. Is there such a list for Nashville? If not, can one be started? -JohnAlbertRigali (talk) 01:27, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
- Hi JohnAlbertRigali! We don't have anything like that set up, but it would be a cool thing to try out. If you want to get one started, we can alert the local Wikipedians to sign up. Look forward to crossing paths! Clifford Anderson (talk) 02:51, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
OK, here's what I've done:
- created Wikipedia:Meetup/Nashville/Invites (using Wikipedia:Meetup/LA/Invites as a boilerplate)
- created Template:Nashville meetup invite (using Template:LA meetup invite as a boilerplate)
- created Template:Nashville meetup invite/doc (using Template:LA meetup invite/doc as a boilerplate)
- added Invites list section at Wikipedia:Meetup/Nashville#Invite list (emulating Wikipedia:Meetup/LA#Invite list)
- added See also section at Wikipedia:Meetup/Nashville#See also (emulating Wikipedia:Meetup/LA#See also) with redlink to potential invite archival page (intended to emulate Wikipedia:Meetup/LA/Invite archive)
I think that Wikipedians in and near Nashville can now be asked to add themselves to the invite list. It's up to meetup coordinators to manage invites; although I don't think that I'd be of much help, I welcome requests for help with that. Mind you, all of this is uncharted territory for me - I'm fumbling through it and hoping that it all works out. -JohnAlbertRigali (talk) 17:45, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
