Date?
[edit]Just to get the ball rolling... any ideas? –Juliancolton | Talk 03:12, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- I suggest June 20th. Meetare Shappy Cunkelfratz! 11:02, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Okay for me. Newyorkbrad (talk) 23:47, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- I like that date too.--ragesoss (talk) 00:18, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

- I would personally prefer if we could find a larger coffeehouse. Its A Grind is way too small.3 1/2 years of Mitch32 00:22, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- We took a nice walk to the tables outside Barnes & Noble. The Coffeehouse is more of a rendez-vous point. Meetare Shappy Cunkelfratz! 00:27, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, but it would be preferable if we stayed in one place :P.3 1/2 years of Mitch32 00:28, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- Date's been finalized. :-) Meetare Shappy Cunkelfratz! 14:04, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Meeting place, agenda
[edit]Would reserving a room at the West Hartford Public Library be an option? It's immediately nearby the group of tables we ended up at last time, and may offer more space and resources.
Is there an agenda for the meetup? At the last meetup, we did some brainstorming on a local photo hunt, which seems like it would be the easiest to organize of the ideas that were tossed about. Emw2012 (talk) 04:58, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- Usually we just wing it, but that would help. I wonder what happened to Jehochman's science place he mentioned?3 1/2 years of Mitch32 10:04, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- There's not really an agenda at the moment. However, if you have an idea for a topic, feel free to add it.
- Personally, I don't see anything wrong with just sitting outside. However, if the weather doesn't cooperate, we may need a backup. How much does a room at the library cost? We don't have a budget...Meetare Shappy Cunkelfratz! 10:41, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- The page for West Hartford Public Library meeting rooms (found here) says that "meeting rooms may be used at no charge by verified non-profit, West Hartford-based organizations." Although I assume we'd qualify as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, I'm not sure if a group of editors from in and around Connecticut would be considered West-Hartford based. If not, then we could probably meet in another part of the library provided we weren't too loud. I'll hold off further looking into this until I get more feedback from people here. It looks like they may be fewer people meeting than last time, so maybe 'It's a Grind' will fit the bill this time around. Emw2012 (talk) 23:40, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, let's wait for next time. Speaking of which, in August I'll be inactive and will miss the meetup, so someone else may need to schedule it.. Meetare Shappy Cunkelfratz! 23:43, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

- I think if you approach them directly they will likely be quite sympathetic, as the Hartford-area and CT Wikipedians are a non-profit group in the broader local community, and probably at least one or two of us are patrons of the West Hartford Public Library itself. The fact that we are very much a group that is interested in positive collaboration with libraries (e.g. Wikipedia:Wikipedia at the Library, something that could also be pursued in West Hartford) should also I think be a point in our favor.--Pharos (talk) 02:03, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Meeting time?
[edit]Any ideas on a good meeting time? The last meeting began around 2:30 pm. Any time before 5 would work well for me. Emw2012 (talk) 23:49, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- 2:30 looks good. Meetare Shappy Cunkelfratz! 23:52, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
Geonotice
[edit]I didn't get a WP:GEONOTICE about this meetup, and only learned by seeing the CT Meetup page on my watchlist. Did I just miss getting included on the set of notified IPs, or did a geonotice not go out? In the case of the latter, I think it'd be good to reactive geonoticing, which is how I found out about the last meetup. Emw2012 (talk) 00:03, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- It is out for me. Meetare Shappy Cunkelfratz! 00:51, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- I just activated it today, and there may be some lag but it should be working for everyone.--Pharos (talk) 01:54, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- Nope, sorry -- I never got a notice. Pastor Theo (talk) 19:53, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

New meetup?
[edit]Anyone interested in a new meetup? It's been almost 6 months since the last one.--Pharos (talk) 19:05, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- How about now? :-) –Juliancolton | Talk 22:01, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
- I'm still up for it!--Pharos (talk) 12:08, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
