Technical NFCC violation aside, we do need a kind of informal rule, like IAR, that tells people not to waste their energy on drama when they can just relax instead and use their energy on more productive activities. Sceptre (talk) 18:27, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
Policy, guideline or otherwise, it's pretty much not there. We have a civility policy, we have rules telling us to follow the rules, we have rules telling us to ignore the rules and not bother following them. Now Sceptre proposes a policy telling us to relax? Gee whizz, what's next? A policy telling us to go to bed early so we're in a better mood? No way, Jose. Sceptre, leave it as an essay and let us choose to follow it, rather than be told to. - I'm sorry if I can't take you seriously, but your argument fell flat on its face when you said "nanny state". Just chalk it up to eighteen years of living in the UK. Sceptre (talk) 18:44, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- Fair enough, I've taken the nanny state remark out, Now perhaps you'll take it seriously and not laugh it off? Thor Malmjursson (talk) 19:15, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- Okay. I should say that I don't want this to be a policy; I feel that requiring an editor to relax is not acceptable (hence why I support making POINT policy and CIV a guideline). I want this to be a guideline, because I think we need to advise people to relax and not live off drama. Even a guideline gets some semblence of recognition, and especially from dramamongers. - I fully agree. WP:ANI has steadily spiraled right out of control. With all the drama going on and constant bickering editors are getting right turned off the project and end up leaving. WP:LETITGO and WP:EGO are another two that we should seriously consider officially promoting to guideline. -- Ϫ 04:52, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
