Wikipedia talk:Junior and assistant administrators
Hierarchial admin structures have been proposed, and failed, before. And if we're going to split up admin powers anyway, why do we not just make each power seperate, instead of making different levels of adminship? -Amark moo! 05:26, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Support. I like it. If being an admin is not a big deal let someone take it for a test drive before they decide to go through the admin process.

Say I was a car salesman and I told you: "First get the financing, Second sign the contract, Third put money down. and than you get the car." That would be fraudulent. Why make someone sign the dotted line before they even know what there getting into. The junior admin could be a short test drive. Goals and parameters being set. As the test drive is taking place, current admins can find out if the editor is a good admin. Still keep the support and oppose process in place.--ⅮⅭⅭⅬⅩⅩⅤⅠⅠ 15:31, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
I oppose this. Without good reason, really good reason (and this view is subjective) I do not see any good coming to the project from a rank structure. Additionally, good job being bold and proposing this. Navou banter / review me 16:44, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- I also oppose. It's been proposed before, and I think it might make things harder rather than easier. This way, either you can perform admin tasks, or you can't: the differentiation is logical, although I prefer a more inclusionist attitude at RFA (that's not for this discussion, and I may at some point have a COI on that). Also, the two most important tasks of an admin are to delete pages and block users/IPs. To create positions that can't do this seems unnecessary. YechielMan 08:12, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
