Wikipedia talk:Featured picture candidates/Departure Herald, Xuande Era Panoramic Painting
If you look closely, the emperor depicted in this painting does not look like the Xuande Emperor because it was not painted during the Xuande Era. This is actually a painting depicting the Jiajing Emperor or Ming Shih-tsung (1522-1566). A more detailed description of the event can be found in a book written by Na Chih-Liang entitled The Emperor's Procession Two Scrolls Of The Ming Dynasty. It was published in 1970 by the National palace Museum in Taiwan where this painting is currently housed.
