Discussion Firefangledfeathers

[edit]
  1. Support. While the FAC nominator (Stca74) remains the top editor on this article, and pitched in admirably during the FAR, they are not eligible for a Featured article save award. When the FAR reached the point that the star was saveable, but the content needed prose polishing and source checking, Firefangledfeathers worked their magic, and facilitated this save, and now accounts for 15% of the content and over a quarter of the edits. Thanks again! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:34, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Support, a lot of pitching in apparent looking through the article history. More widely, a commendable FAR, where the problems were clearly articulated and worked on in good faith by all. CMD (talk) 06:53, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  4. Support – great work! Extraordinary Writ (talk) 21:44, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  5. Support. Great work by FFF not only in excellent copyedits but also in highlighting many opportunities to add new contents and in finding great new online image resources and other sources — and all done in most effective and pleasant cooperation and interaction. Big thanks! Stca74 (talk) 16:45, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

HF comments

[edit]
  • "was the original imperial palace of Heian-kyō (present-day Kyoto), the capital of Japan, from 794 to 1227" - was it in use in 794? The body indicates that it wasn't completed until the next year, but I guess it could have been in use before completion.
  • I think there needs to be some level of describing the differences of the various portions of the structure before the history - the history section mentions the chodo-in and buraku-in, but unless the reader skips ahead and reads the description of the structure first, it is very unclear what exactly these areas are
  • "concerns the eponymous character's low-ranking mother in Genji Monogatari" - any chance this is the Tale of Genji mentioned earlier? (out article on the Tale of Genji says it was also known as the Genji Monogatari). If so, I'd recommend using a consistent name for both here and the earlier mention, so that the reader isn't confused trying to figure out what the Genji Monogatari is

That's my primary concerns. Hog Farm Talk 21:22, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the comments. Regarding them in order:
  • The body text (in the History section) mentions that the court moved in already in 794. As pointed out there, one particularly important palace structure was not completed until next years, but the whole palace complex took apparently two more decades to be completely ready.
  • Added context around those two important structures and added internal links pointing to the later section where they are covered more fully.
  • Changed to Tale of Genji in the latter section as suggested.
