Welcome to FAC
[edit]Hi PanagiotisZois and welcome back to FAC. A few reminders on the process and how to get the best from it:
What to expect
- As you haven't had a nomination go through FAC for seven years, the nominated article will need to pass a source-to-text integrity spot check and a review for over-close paraphrasing in addition to all of the usual requirements.
- You should be aware that every aspect of the article will be rigorously examined, including the standard of prose; breadth, standard and formatting of sources; image licencing; and adherence to the Manual of Style.
Dealing with reviewers
- Try to deal with comments in a timely and constructive fashion.
- Remember that reviewers are constructively giving their opinion on the article.
- Keep calm when dealing with criticism of any aspect of the article.
- Don't take the criticism personally: reviewers are examining the article – not you!
How to get the best from the process
- Reviewing the work of others is a good way to get a grasp of the process from the other side.
- Reviewing other FACs also increases the likelihood that others will review your nomination – although remember there is no quid pro quo at FAC.
Good luck with your nomination.

- Thank you for the welcome, @Gog the Mild:. Even if the FAC doesn't work out, at the very least I'll have improved upon the state of this article, and hopefully people that weren't aware about this game's existence before will read about it and become fans or something. - It seems to be doing well for a first-time nomination. I think you can be cautiously optimistic. Gog the Mild (talk) 17:02, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- I'm quite surprised that it is your first nom @PanagiotisZois 🍕BP!🍕 (🔔) 01:38, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
- I think Gog was referring to this being a first-time nomination for the article. It's not uncommon even for experienced editors, for one reason or another, to not succeed in getting an article promoted to FA the first time around. I recently saw that happen with the Iron Man article. The nominator was quite good and experienced, but it took for a second FAC for the page to be promoted, partly due to a lack of reviews the first time around. As for me, even if I take only successful FACs into account, this would be my second one; if it actually passes. PanagiotisZois (talk) 11:40, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
- Early FAs are a hassle. I know I was anxious bringing mine to FAC, as I'd been mostly retired for eight years and standards change (as do reviewers... which means new expectations). But PZ is right in that experienced articles can have FACs fail. I think I had two fail, altogether, and one was after I already had ten or so under my belt. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 18:49, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
