[edit]Bloody fantastic. Best kind of infobox ever. 1b & c are obvious from reading the references. So its time to polish your 2c. Generally excellent, there are no problems or major missing data.
- Location is optional, I like it alot, but you can choose to delete locations, or fill in the missing.
- p. and pp. in the books and chapters, nothing for the journals. Pick one!
- Volume and Edition data in titles. Please check they're actually in titles.
- I need some reassurance about some works' bibliographic data or status.
- Generally, cite book is producing p. / pp. and cite journal is producing naked pages. Consider adding |nopp= }} for books, or manually adding p. / pp. on your journals?
- Hmmm, I've always thought that the colon after the volume or issue # produced by the cite journal template was essentially equivalent to a p. or pp. Since this change is contrary to what I've done before at FAC, or to the citation styles I've seen on other science FA's, I'll wait for a second opinion before I change them (no offense, I just need some reassurance before undertaking a citation style paradigm shift). Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- If its consciously stylistic, its fine, because its consistent within those two groups. Fifelfoo (talk) 10:01, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Publication locations: Please choose between US state contractions and US state names in full.
- I've now defaulted to locations in full. Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Publication locations are missing for these citations. You can either remove locations from everything with them (frowny face) or add |location= please
- Esser K, Lemke PA. (1994).
- Ramsbottom J. (1953).
- Carluccio A. (2003-10-17).
- Spoerke DG, Rumack BH. (1994).
- (Not Optional despite University press; you give locations for other University presses:) Stensaas M, Sonstegard J. (2004).
- Alexopoulos CJ, Mims CW, Blackwell M. (1996).
- Evenson VS. (1997).
- Nilson S, Persson O. (1977). (Its a Penguin, please check the publication's actual bibliographic page).
- Lamaison J-L, Polese J-M. (2005).
- Boa E. (2004).
- Locations now added for all. Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Please double check your location for these sources
- Due to Penguin's publication location notoriety: Grigson J. (1975). The Mushroom Feast. London: Penguin.
- Cas can you check this one? Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Due to the vagueness of Germany: Grund DW, Harrison AK. (1976). Nova Scotian Boletes. Germany: J. Cramer. pp. 73–75. ISBN 3768210626.
- Done. Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Due to Penguin's publication location notoriety: Grigson J. (1975). The Mushroom Feast. London: Penguin.
- Editions in Titles
- Is 4th rev ed part of the title? If not |edition = 4th rev. Singer R. (1986).
- (Abridged Edition) part of the title? |edition = Abridged Edition Liddell HG, Scott R. (1980).
- Volumes in Titles
- Is Vol I. Dicomycetes. part of the title? Tylutki EE. (1979).
- Is Volume 4 part of the title? If not |volume = Volume 4 Sowerby J. (1809).
- Edition not in Title
- Please check: Chang S-T, Miles PG. (2004). Mushrooms: Cultivation, Nutritional Value, Medicinal Effect, and Environmental Impact (2nd ed.).
- I've double-checked these and moved the edition or volume # to its own template parameter where warranted. Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Please check: Chang S-T, Miles PG. (2004). Mushrooms: Cultivation, Nutritional Value, Medicinal Effect, and Environmental Impact (2nd ed.).
- Also, can you check if this is a real Encyclopedia (in which case I'd want the Entry and the Entry's specialist author listed), or if its a magisterial botanical reference of another kind closer to a scholarly monograph? Lamaison J-L, Polese J-M. (2005). The Great Encyclopedia of Mushrooms. Könemann. p. 28.
- Not a real encyclopedia, just marketing. Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Is 5. part of the title on the first page of the chapter? Bruns TD. (1984). "5. Insect mycophagy in the Boletales: fungivore diversity and the mushroom habitat"
- Not really I guess; the number 5 is listed on top of the chapter title, but the title is offset and in a different font... so I'll say no. Removed. Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Can you double check that this is actually at page 0? Lian B, Zang J-P, Hou W-G, Yuan S, Smith DL. (2008).
- Was confused because it's an electronic journal. Have now added the page numbers that appear in the PDF document. Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Date out of style: How do you do partial dates when most of your dates are ISO? Volk T. (August 2004).
- Is now 2004-08. Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Can you reassure me the journal title is really Allionia (Turin)? Ceruti A, Tozzi M, Reitano G. (1987/88).
- Because later you cite: Ceruti A, Tozzi M, Reitano G. (1988). "Micorize di sintesi tra Boletus edulis, Pinus sylvestris e Picea excelsa" (in Italian). Allionia 28: 117–24.
- Have changed the second instance to Allionia (Turin). Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Because later you cite: Ceruti A, Tozzi M, Reitano G. (1988). "Micorize di sintesi tra Boletus edulis, Pinus sylvestris e Picea excelsa" (in Italian). Allionia 28: 117–24.
- Possible book in series? Nilson S, Persson O. (1977). Fungi of Northern Europe 1: Larger Fungi (Excluding Gill-Fungi). Penguin.
- Yes, it's the first in a series... not sure what I should with the template though (The 1:, as written, is part of the title)?
- If you're on cite book, there's a |series= where you'd put the series name and editor, ie |series=Horses of the World, Phillips, Phillip (Series ed.)
- Actually, further investigation has revealed there's only 2 books in the Fungi of Northern Europe set... does that count as a series? If yes, I'm still wondering exactly what should go in the series parameter: |series=Fungi of Northern Europe, Nilson S, Persson O ? Then leave the title out of the title parameter? Sasata (talk) 21:43, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm. It more looks like its split over two named volumes. PITA. For a series: Nilson S, Persson O. 1977. |title= Fungi of Northern Europe 1: Larger Fungi (Excluding Gill-Fungi). |series = [in Series.] |location=? Penguin. The fact that its 1: Larger Fungi, and the series indicator is only [in Series.] rather than a Series title will indicate that the title of the work should be taken as indicative of the title of the series. Compare to |title= Horses of Australia |series=All the Worlds Horses. You could just not put any |series= data in. Its optional, but a nice bit of shine. Fifelfoo (talk) 21:50, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Added as suggested. Sasata (talk) 22:18, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Given you only repeat cite four times, all from the same work, could we (purely optionally) set up internal anchors to redirect to the initial citation of Carluccio (fn 12. Carluccio A. (2003-10-17). )? ie |ref=Carluccio2003 into the initial cite at 12 and wrap the subsequent cites like so [[#Carluccio2003|Carluccio]], p. 99.? This lets the reader jump back to the initial Carluccio cite without requiring a bibliography. (Its entirely optional flash).
- I wouldn't mind doing this (and hadn't thought about this method before)... opinions Cas? Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Bonus points, add English translations of the Cyrillic titles, this is due to the lamentable lack of knowledge of how to sound out Cyrillic? Focus Information Agency, Bulgaria. "(in Bulgarian) По 1 тон гъби на ден се предават в изкупвателните пунктове в Белоградчик". Belogradchik.info. http://www.belogradchik.info/1/content/view/390/2/lang,bg/ (in Bulgarian). Retrieved 2009-11-02.
- I will ask our resident Bulgarian mycophile for a translation. Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Done. Sasata (talk) 21:43, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- And on the other side, please check that the journal title shouldn't be rendered in Cyrillic? Veselkov IM. (1975). "Artificial propagation of Boletus edulis in forests". Rastitel'nye Resursy 11: 574–78.
- Wow, I actually got to put a year of university Russian to use! Done. Sasata (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Many thanks for the quick edits! Fifelfoo (talk) 10:01, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
