Picture notes

[edit]

Brooklyn Lee, star of Secretaries 4 (she's the one who tweeted the pic) and, on the other side, Tasha Reign, also of sexy movies including Farm Girls Gone Bad. The third woman, the one furthest from Bill's arm, was identified on Twitter as @jennifer_taule. Evidently the picture was notable enough to be included in Ms. Lee's article. 7&6=thirteen () 13:13, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am glad we have someone so knowledgeable on the subject :) It should be perhaps removed from her page per WP:FART.--kelapstick(bainuu) 22:11, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Besides being an oxymoron, do you think that pornographic actress should be wikified? 7&6=thirteen () 01:10, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
 Done --01:24, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Sadly, that link is dead. There is a certain irony. While it proves the truth of this article that it 'wasn't notable' and should be deleted, it was a real article that exemplified the point this article makes about notability and the wisdom or need for articles on au courant "news" subjects. Maybe some of the content and references should be put into this article. 7&6=thirteen () 14:01, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How about replacing it with the AfD discussion? benzband (talk) 14:03, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I second the motion. I think that's a good thought. 7&6=thirteen () 14:09, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
 Done. benzband (talk) 16:46, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This will just add some context. Cigar guy references: Busbee, Jay (October 3, 2010). "Mystery solved! At last, Cigar Guy's secret identity revealed!". {{cite news}}: Text "accessdate-July 18, 2012" ignored (help) Sportsmail Reporter (3 October 2010). "Easy Tiger! The moment Woods's Ryder Cup challenge was halted... by a photographer". Daily Mail. {{cite news}}: Text "accessdate-July 18, 2012" ignored (help) Inbar, Michael (October 10, 2010). "'Cigar Guy': Fame is fantastic — and embarrassing: Man behind the viral sensation pops up on the plaza and talks about the phenomenon". Today. {{cite news}}: Text "accessdate-July 18, 2012" ignored (help) 7&6=thirteen () 17:51, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How about adding those as footnotes? benzband (talk) 11:57, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I think they show how fleeting Cigar Guy's 'two minutes of fame' was (Warhol's "15 minutes of fame" paradigm would seem to be an overstatement). He really wasn't notable in the least, and even looking at these links left me with a definite and abiding certainty that I had just wasted 15 minutes of my life that I'll never get back. Kind of like reading The National Inquirer. But all that being said, it really will drive home the point that ephemereal 'fame' by itself doesn't justify having an article. His level of accomplishment was infinitesmally small and banal. When all is said and done, who cares about "Cigar guy", and why would they? Other than to win a bar bet about "small moments in Tiger Woods' history." 7&6=thirteen () 13:57, 19 July 2012 (UTC)  Done !!!![reply]

Another really, really, really stupid article idea that you really, really, really should not create… As for me, all i want to do is sit on my ass and fart. (^___^) benzband (talk) 14:33, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
We also need an article on "What size iron did Mrs. Woods use to attack Tiger Woods' Buick?" I rather liked the Beckett article. 7&6=thirteen () 15:01, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
May have been more fun with a soldering iron i'm glad you liked the article, btw the pipelink was a quote from Beckett. He also covers farts in his Molloy (novel):

I can’t help it, gas escapes from my fundament on the least pretext, it’s hard not to mention it now and then, however great my distaste. One day I counted them. Three hundred and fifteen farts in nineteen hours, or an average of over sixteen farts an hour. After all it’s not excessive. Four farts every fifteen minutes. It’s nothing. Not even one fart every four minutes. It’s unbelievable. Damn it, I hardly fart at all, I should never have mentioned it. Extraordinary how mathematics help you to know yourself.

Although he did not get an article, his farting experience made it's way into The Times Literary Supplement#The TLS in literature. benzband (talk) 16:26, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mitt Romney dog incident? 7&6=thirteen () 22:14, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, but consensus is apparently that some farts are notable...--kelapstick(bainuu) 16:13, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ahhh, at last, Wikipedia has descended into fart jokes. Suzukisue (talk) 20:10, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's 2020, people

[edit]

Lindsay Lohan? Justin Bieber? Really? 2008 is calling; it wants the flip phone back ...

We are already more than halfway to actually being Two Decades Behind on this one. Can anyone suggest any more courant teen celebrities (although with BTS's popularity the K-Pop reference still works) we can swap in here? Daniel Case (talk) 04:29, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No, everyone knows Wikipedia is a site for old millennials[citation needed] who are by definition out of touch with modern teen icons. 66.210.249.135 (talk) 21:07, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
