Grading

You will not be eligible to earn credit for this assignment unless you complete an online training tutorial at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Training/For_students This takes about one hour.

Your Wikipedia contribution will be scored on the basis of four different elements, each one out of five points total

Length: To get full credit, the contribution must be at least 200 words of new content (not already in an existing Wikipedia article).
Content: To get full credit, the content must be accurate, understandable, and informative. If you are adding to an existing article, it cannot replicate content already provided by a different contributor.
Wikipedia Style: To get full credit, the contribution must adhere to Wikipedia Style, which is explained at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:The_perfect_article. The most important aspect to draw your attention to is the importance of a "Neutral point of view", which is one of the "Fundamental principles of Wikipedia". This is very easy to do if you watch the video titled “Editing Basics: Bold and Links” at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Training/For_students/Resources
Citations, External Links, or Internal Links: To get full credit, you must cite sources for the new content you provide. This could take the form of a reference, similar to those in your term paper; if so, follow the directions at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citing_sources. Or, you could provide links to other internal pages in Wikipedia or external links outside of Wikipedia.
