Bot schedule?

[edit]

How come today's update says

Long pages; data as of 21:15, 19 March 2012 (UTC).

Did the bot really run several days ago, and it's only being posted now? Or was there a glitch of some sort?

The Toolserver's replication of the English Wikipedia database is broken, so the database is lagged by a few days. You can follow the status of the Toolserver here: <http://status.toolserver.org/>. There's also a note about the lagged reports at Wikipedia:Database reports/Announcements. Hope that helps. --MZMcBride (talk) 22:45, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Need top list to be generated daily

[edit]

I need the top list to be generated daily so that I can setup the proper bots to archive them. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 03:31, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please contact the operator of the bot who updates the page - MZMcBride (talk · contribs) - directly and ask them for what you need. Regards SoWhy 18:02, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I saw this request earlier. It's unclear to me how daily updates would affect the ability to archive the pages (or mark the pages for archival). --MZMcBride (talk) 18:03, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Two suggestions

[edit]

@Snaevar: Please can we

  • split the current column 3 into two, so that we can sort on current length?
  • add an "edit section 0" link, after the current edit link?

Go for splitting column 3 into two. Adding an section 0 is a different matter, it is not possbile to do that solely with an SQL query. You will probably need an bot to add the section link. Since I am not running a bot, I cannot help you with that.--Snaevar (talk) 20:17, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Snaevar: Thank you. The column split was the more important tweak. I've done quite a bit of archiving in the last few days; coudl you rebuild the list, please, so I can see what's left? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:30, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
