7 day removal instruction
[edit]Would there be consensus to change the instruction that says "after 7 days you remove the page"? The way we've been handling it recently is to not remove the transcluded day until its entirely been closed out, with any unresolved issues being copied to the unresolved header on CFD. That tends to head off the problem of days being archived before all of the discussions on them have been closed. Maybe change it to "Every day, the day page (that is, [[Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/Year Month Day]]) more than seven days old should be removed from Wikipedia:Categories for deletion after all items on the page have been closed or marked unresolved."? - OTOH, the page is just getting longer and longer, and takes forever to load, no matter whether from dialup at home. The language was probably from when a bot was handling it, and in the future a bot will delete the 7 day old page and put it on the recent debate list automatically.
- Maybe we just need a pointer (in /Working) to the day page currently closing? Then, as folks finish the page, they just move the pointer?
- Hmm that might work. --Syrthiss 13:08, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Looked at a floating box, and tried it as part of the floating box on the main page, but it seemed easier to add it to a list on the /Working page (thinking about a future bot). Can just delete from the list when finished.
