Scope
[edit]A few thoughts; My intention here was to create a light-hearted read that could be easily linked to (using WP:BFE) in order to provide a little comic relief during tense exchanges, and to highlight some examples of good behaviour and bad behaviour so that people can take a step back from things and reassess their approach. It's obviously going to have a lot of overlap with many other essays and guidelines, so my idea was to try and stay close to the metaphor as much as possible. I created a template, {{Storm in a teacup}}, in a similar vein. Another phrase that springs to mind that I'd like to play with is "quell the storm, ride the thunder". And I think it's also important that, although the thrust of the essay should be peaceable, it ought to be entirely irreverent. People take themselves far too seriously sometimes, and I think it can be cathartic to laugh at yourself as much as others. nagualdesign 21:21, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
