Wikipedia talk:Article assessment/Natural disasters/Permian-Triassic extinction event

violet/riga, I agree the article needs more references / citations. But could you please clarify 2 of your comments:
- "No discussion of the impact". In Jan 2007 I added the material about what died and about the post-extinction ecosystems (there was none previously). And the article has a section on the theory that an asteroid / commet / meteorite impact caused / contributed to the extinction. What kind of impact do you think is missing?
- "Should link to other extinction events better than it does". The article links to the main extinction event article, which lists the major extinctions in chronological order and in most cases summarises their ecosystem impacts, and also has sections on the evolutionary sigificance of mass extinctions, common types of causal theory, etc. What further links do you think are necessary and why? I don't see any strong connection between one mass extinction and another except possibly for similar possible causes (covered in extinction event) or, at a push, that the P-Tr extinction caused archosaurs / dinosaurs to become dominant land vertebrates at the expense of therapsids / mammals and that the K-T extinction reversed this.Philcha 09:44, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
