Appearance
Almost the same?
[edit]This looks almost the same as the current main page, except the colors are gray instead. Is that the case? For the other designs, I disliked the color, but in this case, it might be a bit too drab for my taste. However, this is still one of my favorites so far, excluding the current main page design, of course. Gary King (talk) 20:47, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- Having all the headers in same color is a good idea IMO, but I don't really like the current color you have chosen, it hurts my eyes. ARTYOM 21:21, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- Somebody mentioned that the current page was too flashy, so I tried to make one as bland as possible. (Yeah, yeah, could've gone with straight plaintext....) --MZMcBride (talk) 21:53, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Actually, this one's my favorite so far. — Deckiller 03:50, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- I should point out that rarely do all four top templates and the POTD include color images, as they do now, which allows them to "pop" in the gray background. I kinda like the effect right now, but would need to see if it dips into melancholy when TFA, DYK, SA and POTD have black and white images, which happens fairly often. - BanyanTree 04:33, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- MZMcBride, I liked this color. The scientists remind us blue (Americans' favorite but only some of them) has the least contrast with blue links. I tried yellow, a traditional background color for legibility; it looked 10 years old. I do like gray. Or grey. —SusanLesch (talk) 14:35, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- I generally like monochrome, but the prominent blue writing breaks the spell a bit somehow. Maybe if the backgrund were slightly greyer...Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 19:17, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
