Wikipedia:Wikipedians are not on Wikipedia 24 hours a day
This is an essay. It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not an encyclopedia article, nor is it one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. Some essays represent widespread norms; others only represent minority viewpoints. |
Recently, I uploaded several images for a certain portal. I checked on Flickr, and they stated that the images were free to use elsewhere. What happens? The images are tagged for deletion, and ultimately deleted, all because "the image was tagged and the original uploader made no claim to fair use."
Patience is a virtue
[edit]Some users on Wikipedia seem to think that users spend all their waking hours here, constantly editing and reediting. Unfortunately this is not usually the case – Wikipedians have social lives, jobs and places of study. Of course there are users to the contrary, but a glance at the contributions of any user usually proves the former. What this tells you is: Don't assume there will be a three-second response to every question or speedy deletion tag.
