[edit]- Art+Feminism Edit-A-Thon (Saturday, March 5 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Research Commons Main Colloquium Room in the 18th Avenue Library): Our biggest event of the semester is today! Art+Feminism is a fun, inclusive one-day event that brings together diverse communities to create and improve Wikipedia articles related to women in the arts. Food, refreshments, and raffle prizes will be available.
- Weekly Workshop (Wednesday, March 9 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the 18th Avenue Library Room 350A): Join us to discuss Wikipedia, learn how to edit, and contribute together. All experience levels are welcome! We'll have pizza, drinks, and goodies. At this workshop, we'll be reviewing the Art+Feminism Edit-A-Thon, along with electing our President and Vice President.
Latest Club Updates
[edit]- Our constitution has been updated! The new version can be found on the Union website. The biggest amendments (which were approved at our last Weekly Workshop) include:
- Officers can no longer automatically renew their positions.
- To become an officer, a member now has to have attended at least half of the events during the semester leading up to the registration window (unless otherwise unavoidable).
- President and Vice President are elected by the general member body every year.
- The Treasurer is selected by consensus from the President and Vice President.
- The Outreach Manager and Secretary positions have been removed and replaced with the Board of Trustees; the Board of Trustees' size changes with the size of the organization, and serves as general officers to help with organizational duties. Trustees are selected by the President, Vice President, and Treasurer from a pool of applicants.
- Candidacy for President and Vice President are now open! If you are interested in a position and have attended at least half of Wikipedia Connection's events this semester, please email Kevin Payravi by March 8 to announce your running. Next week, at our Workshop on March 9, we'll be electing our President and Vice President for the next year. After that, we will begin the selection process for Treasure and our new Board of Trustees.
