A lecture course exploring how to effectively communicate science to non-scientists. Specific topics will include: targeting specific audiences, effective use of language, different modes and media used in communication, determining your purpose for communicating, and the use of narratives to convey information. Students will learn various theories regarding science communication and will have opportunities to put these theories into practice during the course.
