This course investigates individuals, their understandings of themselves and others, and their relationship to, and roles in, society. We will explore theories surrounding identity, interaction, and socialization. Along the way, we will interrogate ideas of thinking and feeling, the conscious and unconscious mind, how our exposures and environments affect our ideas and behaviors, and take deep dives into concepts such as perception, attention, and both individual and collective meaning-making.
