Learning Objectives:
To introduce students to a broad understanding of both quantitative and qualitative communication research methods by: 1) emphasizing effective approaches for finding, consuming, and analyzing communication research; 2) providing a path for conducting research projects while demonstrating how the research question, or hypothesis, guides the research process; 3) introducing quantitative and qualitative methodologies and research concepts, data collection and analyzing; 4) familiarizing research report writing and peer review article structure and content; 5) connecting knowledge gained from this course to research presented in other courses, along with an understanding of how research skills will benefit future career goals.
