This course offers an overview of methods and topics in occupational epidemiology. It will focus on the concepts of epidemiologic methods as they are applied in occupational epidemiology. The course will include a mixture of lectures, directed readings, and classroom exercises that will cover epidemiologic study designs, issues of validity, measurement of exposure, ascertainment of health outcomes, approaches to analysis, and special considerations for studying the health of a working population. Case studies on a variety of occupational hazards will be used to illustrate these issues.
