Learning Outcomes:
1) To improve the overall quality of Wikipedia by learning how to edit pages, add citations, and new content to existing pages. Those who are interested will also have the option to learn to create a new page.
2) To leverage staff interest and expertise while building community. Wikipedia instruction opens up a world of possibility for new learners. Thus, for folks working from home with a drastically different work day, these skills may provide opportunity to do work from home that is supporting the U of A while also being stimulating and fun.
3) To improve discoverability and usage of U of A Library resources. One of the aims of the Wikipedian in Residence project is to improve channels for discovery and access to online materials in the UAL collection. By empowering UAL staff to identify materials that are popular, relevant, or otherwise significant, we can leverage the popularity of Wikipedia to achieve this aim.
