This course focuses on biographical and autobiographical texts from Northern Mexico, the US Southwest and the US Mexico border. Students are expected to engage with the histories and cultures of these regions. The course aims to improve students' writing skills, particularly their ability to write descriptive, substantiated, succinct and easily understandable prose. They will be using Wikipedia to improve this writing skill and to add to existing Wikipedia pages on the authors and texts we are reading.
