This course critically examines the nature, role, and significance of new communication technologies in contemporary (largely) U.S. culture. It considers the relationship between these technologies and popular conceptions of work, leisure, art, knowledge, identity, and environment and thus provides a foundation for understanding the nature, role, and significance of new communication technologies as a dynamic factor in society. Students will be editing (or creating) entries on some of the authors whose work we read as well as articles related to course topics.

I recommend starting the evaluation and switching articles if it turns out you cannot find much to add/edit. IF YOU ARE ELECTING TO CREATE A NEW ARTICLE: evaluate an article that is similar to the one you are creating (i.e. an biographical article if you are writing about a person, or an article about a similar topic).

Make the changes your peer/I have suggested and begin to finalize your edits/content. Continue to expand and improve your work, and format your article to match Wikipedia's tone and standards. - Read Editing Wikipedia page 15 to review a final check-list before completing your assignment.
- Don't forget that you can ask for help from your Wikipedia Expert at any time!
- Check the live wikipedia edits you made and see if anyone has responded. If they have make the required improvements to the live edits AND the sandbox (what is in the sandbox is what I am grading for the final assignment).
- When you are done put READY FOR GRADING at the top of your sandbox
