Assignment - Start drafting your contributions

By November 19th, you should have a starting draft of whatever article you're working on as a group, it does not need to be very complete yet -- this is more for getting feedback before moving forward with the project.

Milestones

Everyone has begun writing their article drafts.

Week 13

Course meetings
Tuesday, 24 November 2020
Assignment - Peer review one article as a group

Guiding frameworkGroups will swap articles with eachother to review. We will have discussion in class re: feedback.

Assignment - Continue improving your article

Now's the time to revisit your text and refine your work. You may do more research and find missing information; rewrite the lead section to represent all major points; reorganize the text to communicate the information better; or add images and other media.

Assignment - Final article

There are only a few more weeks left to finalize your article. During this time remember to review the following resources available to you:

  • Read Editing Wikipedia page 15 to review a final check-list before completing your assignment.
  • Don't forget that you can ask for help from your Wikipedia Expert at any time!

Assignment - Begin moving your work to Wikipedia

We will have a discussion about this before engaging in this exercise -- we will likely do this in class to practice. If some would like to opt out of adding to live pages, we can keep projects in sandboxes.

Now that you've improved your draft based on others' feedback, it's time to move your work live - to the "mainspace."
