Parasites are globally understudied, yet represent a significant component of biodiversity. One of the greatest limitations in our ability to document global parasite biodiversity is that there are not enough parasitologists, and therefore, not enough available information about parasites. This course will cover parasites and their life cycles, host injuries, treatment, means of control, and prevention of infection. Students will use Wikipedia to update existing articles for parasite taxa and create articles for notable parasite taxa to make parasite species information more broadly available.
