This is an introductory course about Native Peoples of North America both past and present. The course will critically look at how Native American perspectives presented in digital media with an emphasis on equity. Assignments would focus on editing Wikipedia references important for Native American groups in the vicinity of our college, yet expanding outward. Work would focus on integrating archival, historical/archaeological databases, and cartographic sources into Wikipedia. A two week section will be dedicated to creating area specific linguistic and tribal boundary maps.
