The course is designed to provide an advanced overview of development in infancy and childhood. Special emphasis will be placed on developmental cascades—the idea that acquisition of new abilities in one domain can lead to downstream effects on another—and the application of cascades to various domains of developmental including cognitive, motor, social, and language.
