A critical analysis of the concept "community food system" as it is employed as an alternative to the global agro-food system. An overview of emerging local and community-driven efforts at producing, distributing and consuming food. Students will be writing a narrative on the Chicago Urban Agriculture Mapping Project (cuamp.org) based on existing literature and non-profit and government websites.
