This introductory course to the MFA in Creative Writing program focuses on professionalization, sustaining a writing life, and literary citizenship. Students will practice literary citizenship by seeking out and editing existing Wikipedia articles about contemporary American writers. In addition to contributing to the information available about contemporary writers, they will better understand the landscape of contemporary literature into which they themselves hope to belong.

Exercise
Now's the time to revisit your text and refine your work. You may do more research and find missing information; rewrite the lead section to represent all major points; reorganize the text to communicate the information better; or add images and other media.
