The course covers European art from 1600 to the 1770s, including major movements, artists, and institutions. The research component of the course will focus on a series of fifteen French prints from the 1680s owned by Calvin College depicting two ceilings: one from the Ambassadors Staircase at Versailles and one from the Chapel at the Chateaux of Sceaux. As part of their research, students will be asked to edit relevant Wikipedia entries (though I'll take a broad definition of 'relevant').
