English 102 is the second course in Ashland University’s two-semester writing sequence and involves continued emphasis on the writing process, critical thinking, close reading, the rhetorical nature of language, and research skills. We will be looking in depth at ethnographic writing, narrative journalism, and interdisciplinary approaches to research. Our key texts look at post-Katrina New Orleans, including Five Days at Memorial and Patina: A Profane Archaeology
