Open proxy. - Dwayne was here! 20:05, 12 September 2010 (UTC) Reason: Open Proxy[reply]

No proxies detected, not blacklisted. Netalarmtalk 22:45, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
{{notaproxy}} The port that was open seemed to be 3128, but I was unable to connect there. The proxy seems to be closed. TNXMan 01:45, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Could not detect any open proxies, not blacklisted. Some sites say this is a proxy, but they're not reliable. Reliable sites indicate that this is not an open proxy. Netalarmtalk 22:45, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting case. I was able to connect through this proxy, but my IP displayed at 160.79.35.17. Since I was able to connect, I'll consider this open and have {{opblocked}} accordingly. TNXMan 01:55, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No open proxies detected. Not listed on any blacklist, but as with some others on here, a Google shows that some sites claim it's an open proxy. But those sites are not reliable, and reliable methods have not been able to identify this as an open proxy. Netalarmtalk 22:42, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
{{opblocked}} It seems as this one is open, as I was able to successfully connect and edit. TNXMan 02:06, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Banned editor eric1985 just posted at his canvassing blog that "Israel" wasn't in the Syrian Americans article:[1] and this IP performed the edit: [2] Reason: Suspicious edits --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 20:41, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • There is a report from Project HoneyPot which says this site was used as a spam harvester in the past, but it has not been suspicious for three months. I was not able to activate this as a web proxy, and there is no landing page on port 80. This editor was blocked 48 hours in July, but otherwise his history is reasonably OK. Suggest closing this. The funny edit to Syrian American mentioned above by Supreme Deliciousness is the only unusual thing in this whole case, and it hasn't been repeated. In a quick search I found one substantive edit that seemed to be real article work. The current editor seems to be interested in anime and manga. His history goes back to 2007, though I'm unsure if it was always the same person. Not very worrisome anyway. EdJohnston (talk) 19:17, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Confirmed open proxy. Listed on one. Netalarmtalk 22:34, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As of today I can't confirm this as a proxy. The IP address doesn't respond to ping, and it timed out when I tried to employ it as a proxy on port 80. This web-based proxy checker also says the site is down. The IP was last used to edit Wikipedia on 21 September. I suggest waiting three days to see if it comes back up. If not, put on a six-month block based on the Google evidence. EdJohnston (talk) 16:35, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This proxy site says it's a proxy, but I couldn't detect any proxies operating from this address. It was most likely an open proxy in the past, but is no longer one. No results in blacklists. Netalarmtalk 22:32, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I could not activate this as either a web proxy or a socks proxy. It has a landing page at port 80. Since it's never been used to edit Wikipedia, I would suggest closing the case with no block at this time. EdJohnston (talk) 18:45, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Did you try port 1080? A Google search suggests that port may be open, but unfortunately I'm not in a place I can verify that. TNXMan 19:23, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No luck with activating it at 1080. Anway there is a landing page at http://202.57.10.25:80 and nothing at http://202.57.10.25:1080. EdJohnston (talk) 20:12, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely not an open proxy. It's registered to the University of South Florida and no open proxies were detected. Not blacklisted. Netalarmtalk 22:26, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
