Assessment Department[ edit ]
This department focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's Vancouver and GVRD articles. While much of the work is done in conjunction with the WP:1.0 program, the article ratings are also used within the project itself to aid in recognizing excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.

Good history section, but lacks enough info about the island today. Some stuff in the lead section needs to moved to their own sections and fleshed out. The history needs more references and footnotes. A couple of more pictures (artisans, cement factory, Emily Carr Institute) would help.

Has 3 paragraphs. Needs development and more sections. Also requires an infobox and a map. Has 3 Pics but could use some diversity

Very basic start to article. Needs to be expanded or merged, as right now it doesn't say very much. Some history of the area would help, especially about the old raceway that was pushed out by the development.

Regional geography and culture[ edit ]
Pacific Northwest - "Foods of the area include salmon, huckleberries, and coffee."
Cascadia - see name/context discussion on Talk:Cascadia and on Talk:Pacific Northwest ; lately the Vancouver Sun has been doing a series using Cascadia to mean the whole WA-ID-OR-MT-AB-BC-YT-AK region, i.e. using it to mean the economic/political alliance of governors and regional business entities.Skookum1 23:58, 16 April 2007 (UTC) [ reply ]
